Osh Kosh

20% Off Your Next Purchase of $50 of More Through February 3rd.

For locals, the nearest store is at the Tanger Outlets in Westbrook, CT right off I-95. For non-locals, consult the locator on the Osh Kosh website.

Pillsbury $.50/1 Sweet Rolls, Crescent Dinner Rolls, or Italian Meal Breads

Go over here to print.

This coupons will double at most grocery stores, making for some very cheap products.

If you happen to be going to Stop and Shop, you can do the following deal:

Purchase Refrigerated Crescents, Cookies, Sweet Rolls, Grands! Biscuits, Grands! Cinnamon Rolls, Pie Crusts, Dinner Rolls, Loaves, Breadsticks or Pizza Crust between 1/25-2/21

Buy 4 get $2.00
Buy 5 get $3.00
Buy 6 or more get $4.00

on your next shopping order catalina.

If you have access to more than one computer you can really work a nice deal for yourself. If not, you can get at least two of these coupons and then use some of the multitude of $1.00/2 coupons that seem to be floating around these days.

Our local Stop and Shop had Grand Biscuits for $1.99 and the small Crescent Rolls for $2.29 -- nothing is going to be free on this deal, but you can get your price down very low.

If you are wondering what to do with hordes of biscuits, never fear -- there's a post for that!

Cherry Picker has done a nice piece on it. Visit her over here. And I must say -- between the deals and the snarky humor, she's one of my favorite blogs and well worth reading.

Vaseline Clinical Therapy $1.50/1 Coupon

Go here to print.

The nice folks at Vaseline just sent this to me in an email -- my guess is that if they are bothering to send emails about this product, they will most likely be offering deals on it fairly soon -- so print this coupon (2 copies) and stand by for a sale.

Staples 15% Off Coupon Good Through 1/30

Go over here to print.

In-store use only and not good on computers. You CAN use this on Easy Saver Rebate items.

And if you haven't recycled any ink cartridges this month, here's my usual reminder to take any empties you may have over to Staples and get $3.00 each for them in Staples Ink Rewards. The January allotment will close on Monday, so drop them off now to get your ink rewards around mid-February. You can get Ink Rewards on a maximum of 10 per month with a regular Staples Rewards card or on a maximum of 20 per month if you have a Staples Premier card.

I will admit that I haven't done any recycling yet this month -- I keep hoping against hope that Staples will come through with another week where you can get double rewards by recycling the same day that you purchase HP ink cartridges. No luck so far -- it's been toner cartridges only all month -- so I'm holding out until at least tomorrow or Friday when Staples will release the sale flyer for 1/30 -- maybe I'll get lucky!

Updates and a Reminder

Here's a new link to the Kraft coupons that went so fast yesterday -- this is working as of this morning.

I did add many more deals to yesterday's ShopRite post.

Fair warning -- many, many coupons are expiring on Monday, 1/31/10 -- time to check your stash and use up whatever is about to go POOF!

Also, with the end of the month in sight, time to hit Coupons.com, Smartsource.com, and RedPlum.com to print off whatever you might want before the coupons change for the new month.

More later -- hope you are all busy finding great deals!

As always, Good Luck and Good Hunting!

New Kraft Printables

UPDATE: Well, that was quick -- I just tried to print these coupons for myself and only the Claussen pickels and Oscar Mayer Bologna/Salami are still working. We'll have to keep an eye on this link and see if they add more!

There's a nice new batch of Kraft printables available. I've now read two warnings that a big ad prints after each coupon, so be warned, but these coupons are worth enough that a little extra ink isn't a big deal. However, if you want to be extra frugal, you can hit the cancel print button once the coupon at the top of the page has printed.

Kraft printables are VERY POPULAR so if you want them, print them today -- I'm guessing some of these won't last more than a day or two.

Here's the list:

Save $1.00/4 Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Save $1.00/1 Velveeta Cheese
Save $1.00/2 Planters Mixed Nuts
Save $1.00/2 Capri Suns
Save $1.00/1 Grated Parm Cheese
Save $1.00/1 Oscar Mayer Meats
Save $1.00/1 Oscar Mayer Bologna
Save $1.00/1 Claussen Pickles
Save $1.00/2 Kraft Deluxe or Velveeta Shells and Cheese

Go here to print.

Thank you to For the Mommas

ShopRite Deals 1/24-1/30

In the battle between Stop and Shop and ShopRite, I have to say that ShopRite clearly has the edge this week. I'm not sure I'll get all the deals listed before I have to rush off to pick up my darling daughter from school, so if you want to see what's available for yourself, head over to the ShopRite website and take a cruise through the flyer for yourself. Lots of good deals don't even involve coupons -- the prices are just really good this week.

However, the best deal of all is the P&G Go For The Gold promotion. Yep, ShopRite has joined the P&G party in a big way.

If you spend $25 or more from participating P&G brands you can submit your receipt for a $10.00 gift card by mail. Spend $50 or more and get both the gift card and a coupon for $10 off on your next shopping order.

And, after perusing the various deal boards, it appears that the minimum purchase is being calculated off shelf price, not sale price so if you're items are on sale, you won't even have to spend the $50 to get the $10 coupon. However, if you are going for just the $10 gift card for a $25 purchase, you will have to spend $25 before coupons or you won't get your rebate.

Participating brands are: Bounce, Bounty, Cascade, Charmin, Dawn, Downy, Duracell, Febreze, Iams, Ivory, Mr. Clean, Pampers, Puffs, Swiffer, and Tide.

There are also 36 items on sale -- check out page 4 of the flyer for details. The flyer is also helpful because if you add the "you save" amount to the sale price, you get the shelf price -- which is handy for doing your calculations.

Sample Deal #1:

Pampers Big Pack Diapers, sale price: $18.99, shelf price: $24.99
Buy 2 packs and a filler -- I suggest a three-pack of Ivory soap since it's only about $1.50

Use: 2 of the $2/1 Pampers coupons from the 12/27 P&G
Use: 1 of the $1/1 Zest, Ivory, etc.. soap coupons from the 12/27 P&G

Pay: $18.99 + $18.99 + $1.50 less $5 in coupons = $34.48

Receive: $10 off coupon from cashier and $10 rebate by mail

Final cost of $14.48 for two big boxes and the soap.

That's going to make the diapers about $.10/each or less depending on the size diaper you are buying.

Sample Deal #2

Buy 3 Bounty Towels 15 pack plus 1 Mr. Clean Magic Eraser 2 pk. That gives you a shelf price of $51.16 and a sale price of $40.96.

Pay: $12.99 + $12.99 + $12.99 + $1.99 = $40.96

Receive $10 off coupon from cashier and $10 back by mail.

Final price: $20.96 for 45 rolls of paper towels and two Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.

(and yes, I do know that there are a variety of small denomination Bounty coupons out at the moment, I just don't have them to hand so I'll let you add them to the deal yourselves.)

There are so many possible deals that there's no way to run through all the possible permutations, but if you're interested, pull out all of your P&G coupons and the ShopRite flyer and see what you can come up with.

(This is one of those regional differences -- SE CT received the $1.00/2 version, which makes the items $1.49 each -- however, the other coupon would double, making them $.99 each -- so if you live in the area with the better coupon, congrats to you -- for everyone else, if you want the better deal, head over to eBay to buy some -- if you order today from someone who ships fast you might just get them in time.)

Shutterfly Free Photo Book and Three Free Cards

Two goodies from Shutterfly:

Free 20 page 7"X9" Photo Book -- Enter code: READYMADEBOOK
Three Free Photo Cards -- Enter code: 3FREECARDS

Shipping is not included, but I've read that it's $5.00 on the book. Not sure how much on the cards because I haven't done one of their card offers in quite a while, but it shouldn't be very much.

If you are familiar with Shutterfly, you will already know how to enter the codes, but for everyone else, you have two choices -- you can enter the code at checkout, or you can make an account and then go to the "My Shutterfly" tab and look all the way down to the bottom of the page where you will find a link to add special offer codes to your account. I found that I had to enter the READYMADEBOOK code by hand as the system rejected a cut and paste. Once you enter the code -- assuming your account qualifies and in this case everyone's should qualify -- the freebies will show up in your account with their expiration date. When I entered these two codes it I was told that I had until 1/26 to do the book and 2/2 to do the cards.

Walgreens Week of 1/24

The prize for the best Walgreen's list of the week has to go to Hip2Save so I'm only going to hit the highlights and then send you over to her for the exhaustive list.

And possibly others -- check the shelf for Register Reward tags under other PepsiCo/Lays products to see if they are included.

Coupons are thin on the ground for this deal:

Stacys Chips, $1.00/1 SS 1/24/10
Buy 2 Tostitos Chips and Get One Tostitos Salsa Free -- I found these on a tear pad in the grocery section at CVS in Montville.

Free after coupon!

Sure Antiperspirant/Deodorant 2.6-2.7 oz. 2/$3 with in-ad coupon
Use 2 $1.50/1 coupons from the 1/24 SS
Free after coupons!

Check out the other deals for yourself. I've listed the best deals above however many, many things are on sale at good but not great prices. I try to stock up only when items hit their rock bottom price, however if you are in need of re-stocking your health and beauty supplies and simply want decent prices all in one place, Walgreens may be your place this week.

Also, lots of items are on clearance at the moment -- but it's hard to know exactly what you'll find at any given store. If you are in the mood to poke around and see what treasures you can find, do bring along your coupon box/binder so that you have everything to hand -- you never know what you might find!

CVS Week of 1/24

This is the first week in a while when we haven't had a convenient $5 off $20 coupon -- so the deals won't be quite so profitable. However, there are still goodies to be had if you play your coupons right!

Nature's Bounty or Flex-a-min, Buy One Get One Free, Limit 6

-$4 Flex-a-min
-$6 Flex-min's Joint Care RP 1/3
-$3 Nature's Bounty CoQ-10 RP 1/24
-$4 Flex-a-mins, any RP 1/24
(above coupon list courtesy of I Heart CVS)

You can head over to Nature's Bounty to get even more coupons. Just for signing up you can get a $2.00/1 coupon -- you can definitely get at least 2, perhaps as many as 6 -- keep hitting "back" until you've printed as many as you can.

If you have some Nature's Bounty vitamins in the house you can enter the codes on the package to earn points towards even more coupons. (For those of you who don't have bottles left from last year's vitamin bonanza, I've also read that you can simply find the codes on Couponing and Saving Money blog over here.) The coupons that you earn with points have much higher values -- up to $5.00/1 -- and if you keep hitting "back" that one prints out SIX times per computer! Remember that you can use two coupons on a BOGO deal -- the BOGO is the store deal, the coupons are the manufacturer deal, and you can "layer" them. Many of the more expensive Nature's Bounty vitamins run $10.49/bottle -- so with the $5.00/1 coupons you could get two bottles for only $.98 total!

(Note: This deal does not include the Vitamin D 1000 iu 100-120 ct, the Your Life Men's & Women's 45 + 90 ct, and the Fish Oil 1200 mg 100-120 ct that are part of the CVS Bonus Deals that have been running all month -- they are BOGO and you also get $3.00 in Extra Bucks for buying two -- which with the $5.00/1 coupons can be a bit of a moneymaker!)

PepsiCo/Lays Spend $20 and Get $10 in Extra Bucks, Limit 1 (in flyer, possibly more -- check your receipt after you do your first deal -- if it DOESN'T say "offer limit reached" then you are good to go around again.)
Included items:
Pepsi and Pepsi-brand 12 packs (Mountain Dew, etc...) 3/$10.00
Tostitos or Lays Chips, 2/$7.00
Gatorade, Sobe, or Pepsi Thirst Quencher, 32 oz, 4/$5.00
Life Water 20 oz, 4/$5.00
Pepsi 2 Liter, 4/$5.00
True North Nuts or Stacy's Chips, 2/$6.00
Amp, Izze, or Starbucks Frapuccino 4 packs, $5.00

Revlon Make-Up, Spend $15.00, Get $7.00 in Extra Bucks, Limit 1
Revlon Colorstay 12 hour eye shadow quad, Super Lustrous, or Moon Drops Lipstick, $5.00 each.
Buy 3, use 3 of the Revlon Color Cosmetic Product, $1.00/1 from SS 1/17/10, Get all 3 for $5.00 TOTAL or $1.67 each!

Those are my favorites, but you should check the flyer anyway to see what might work for you and your family. Do consider doing the Pepsi deal if you use any of the products listed -- Pepsi and Lays always offer their best deals of the year in the lead up to the Super Bowl. Most likely we won't see deals this good again until next January.

For a longer list of all of deals, see I Heart CVS.

Staples Goodies This Week

Sorry this is a little late in the week -- but you still have until Saturday to get these:

First, the Easy Rebate items -- these are the ones where you buy the item, submit the rebate online, and get your money back either as a check or a Visa debit card.

Staples 50% Recycled Multiuse Paper, 500 sheets/ream
Pay $7.00 and Receive a $6.00 Easy Rebate, Limit 2
Final cost: $2.00 for two reams of paper

(I already snagged mine and just tried out the paper -- and I'm happy to report that it's MUCH better than the usual freebie paper -- smooth, very white, and nice weight!)

Staples Photo Supreme Double Sided Matte 8.5"x11" paper, 50/pack.
Pay $12.98 and Receive $11.98 Easy Rebate, Limit 2
Final cost: $2.00 for two packs.

(At this price, this paper is also great for craft projects or anything requiring heavy high-quality paper.)

The deals above are good in-store only.

There's also a coupon on the front page of this week's Staples flyer offering 50% back in Staples Rewards on office supplies. It's worded rather oddly, but it allows you to choose from any of a long list of basic office supply categories including mail & ship, pens, pencils &markers, envelopes, filing, etc... Whatever you spend, you'll receive half of that amount back in Staples Rewards. Staples Rewards are Staples credit -- NOT real money. But they are good on anything at Staples. You can either use the coupon in the flyer at the store (and the stores have extra flyers) or you can use the coupon online with code 88899. Either way, read the offer thoroughly before purchase to make sure your item(s) qualify.

While we're on the subject of Staples, I should probably clarify how their system works for those who are new to doing Staples deals.

As I mentioned above, the Easy Save Rebates are quite straightforward -- buy, submit online, get your money back.

In order to get Staples Rewards, you have to have a Staples Rewards card -- just like a Stop and Shop card. And just like a Stop and Shop card they have to scan it each time you make a purchase so that you get whatever goodies may be coming to you. When purchasing online, you'll enter your number in on the check out page.

Staples has standing offers like 10% back in Staples Reward on ink purchases and often runs deals like this week's 50% back in Staples Rewards on office supplies. Sometimes they even offer items that are free after Staples Rewards. What's the catch? Your money comes back to you in Staples credit, not in real dollars. However Staples Rewards are good, dollar for dollar, on purchases at Staples. And you can use them to purchase items that will earn you more Staples Rewards or Easy Saver Rebates. So once you make your initial purchase, you may very well be able to "recycle" your Staples Rewards over and over.

Finally, Staples does ink rewards. They take any brand of ink or toner and give you $3.00 back in Ink Rewards (basically the same as Staples Rewards and also requiring the Staples Rewards Card) per item recycled. You can turn in up to 10 ink/toner a month with a regular card or up to 20 ink/toner a month with a Staples Premier Card. Lately Staples has been offering extra special rewards on HP ink and toner. This week if you bring back HP toner cartridges AND buy HP toner on the same day, you will get $6.00 back per recycled item rather than $3.00 and you'll get 20% back in Staples Rewards on the value of the toner purchase. For home printers that use ink cartridges, the deal isn't on this week, but keep checking the Staples flyer -- I got double credit one week last month and hopefully they will be running this deal for regular ink cartridges again soon.

Whew... That was long. But I hope it will be profitable for you. Investing a little time and effort in the Staples deals can yield some very cheap office supplies, ink, toner, photo paper, etc... over the course of the year. And don't forget that Staples also stocks cleaning supplies and breakroom supplies like coffee, tea, and snack foods.

I Don't Have Time!

Yep, I hear this a lot. Time is a scarce commodity these days and I often have people tell me that they would love to do coupon deals but simple don't have the time. Hmm... What to do?

Here's a few suggestions. Try to think of it as collecting free money. That should make the time spent seem very worthwhile. Also pick your targets carefully. Let me say that again -- PICK YOUR TARGETS CAREFULLY.

As in, if you're busy, don't sweat the $.50/1 sour cream coupon that you know you have but has inexplicably disappeared from your handbag. Let it live in the Land of Lost Things. BUT -- do worry about the biggies. For those who want maximum bang for the buck in as short a time as possible I would recommend that you focus your efforts on the biggest deals of the month.

In my humble opinion, that's the raft of P&G deals out there -- the easiest one to do being at Stop and Shop this week. Also the Pepsi deals at both CVS and Walgreens -- take your pick. And, and this is more amorphous -- the vitamin deals that are all over the place in January, but thin on the ground the rest of the year.

And, of course, there are some deals that can be important to you that everyone else might put into the "if I get time category". I'll use myself as an example here -- as someone who deals with the delights of fibromyalgia and finds Nyquil quite helpful, I'm all over the Nyquil deal at Walgreens this week. Why? Because instead of paying $6/bottle, I can get FOUR bottles plus two boxes of Puffs for only $2.00. And I'll do that deal at least twice. That's over $50 worth of goods for $4.00. Well worth the time because if I don't do the deal, I WILL HAVE TO SPEND THE MONEY ANWAY -- and boy, I really don't want to spend cash on being sick -- not when it could go to something fun!

If I had a houseful of teenagers who were constantly downing soda, I might be putting more effort into the Pepsi deal. Will I do it? Yes. But I'd cut it if I were running short on time. However, for the mom with teenagers that trip to CVS to get Pepsi -- and you can do it twice -- will net 12 of the 12 packs for a total of $10.00. If you bought that soda full price -- say $4.00/pack -- you would spend $48!!!! Ouch. So for 10 minutes of effort you save $38.

The P&G deal at Stop and Shop? You can get Tide for as low as $1.50/bottle. That's more than 75% off on a product that seldom goes on sale. If Tide is your thing, get thee to Stop and Shop this week and buy a year's worth. This is P&G season -- deals like this likely won't be back until next January. And stock up. If you use 24 bottles a year buy them now -- investing your time in doing six back-to-back transactions one evening this week at a self-checkout when the store is quiet will net you over $160 in savings and probably only take you about 15 minutes.

Given the number of people who have mentioned time crunches to me I'm going to be taking time into consideration more from now on as I write up the blog entries -- pointing out quick and dirty ways to get the best of the week's deals for those who don't have time to hit more than a few stores.

Here's hoping you all have the time to get out and shop this week.

And, as always, Good Luck and Good Hunting!

The included items and prices are a little different, so you should probably pull out both flyers and compare/contrast if you're interested. Also note that while this deal goes all month at Walgreens, different products will be on sale each week.

Doritos 11.75 to 14.5 oz, 2/$5.00
Tostitos Chips, Dip or Salsa, 9 to 15.62 oz , 2/$5.00
Stacy's Pita Chips, 7.33 or 8 oz, 2/$5.00
Lay's Chips, 10.5 to 12 oz, 2/$5.00
Fritos Dip, 15 oz, 2/$5.00
12 Pack Pepsi Products, 3/$11.00
2 Liter Pepsi Products, 4/$5.00
Gatorade, 32 oz, 5/$5.00

Other Pepsi products -- Aquafina comes to mind -- should be included, but double check the tags in store before you take the risk.

Not too many coupons out there.

$1.00/1 Stacy's Chips from the coupon section at All You Magazine
Free Tostitos Salsa when you buy 2 bags of Tostitos -- coupon pad that you may find in grocery stores, CVS, etc... I found mine at the CVS in Montville and there were still plenty left!

These are rare -- be sure to take it somewhere that doubles so that you get $1.50/1.

Boston Market Deals

Boston Market is doing some nice deals these days.

First, there's a batch of coupons over here -- $2.00 off $10.00, $4.00 off $20, and $1.00 off an individual meal. All good through 2/15.

They also have a kids eat free deal going on -- Saturday and Sunday ONLY. You can get two free kid's meals with a purchase of $6.00+ or up to four free kid's meals with the purchase of a family meal. The only catch is that the kid's have to be present. Actually, I suppose there's also an additional catch -- the offer states that you can't combine it with any other offers or coupons so you might have to decide between this deal and using your coupons. Although you might be able to split your order so that you can do it in two transactions -- one with coupons and one with free kid's meals. The details on the free kid's meals are over here.

CVS Deals Week of 1/17

All of these combine with the new $5 off $20 coupon (see previous post) to make the deals even better.

This week's best deals are the Bonus Packs and -- and this will be BIG -- the Pepsi deals.

For those of you who are new to couponing, this is the usual season for Pepsi deals. They usually have multiple deals, usually involving most of their brands (Lays, etc...) in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl.

This year's CVS Pepsi offerings start this week and they are a little, well, weird. There are two separate deals listed. The front of the flyer offers 6 12-packs for $20 with $10 back in Extra Bucks. Then on page 2 of the flyer there is another PepsiCo offer for $10 back in Extra Bucks when you buy $20 worth of selected Pepsi products. Each offer has its own code making them separate deals but both include the Pepsi 12-packs. No idea yet how this is going to play out. I guess we will have to wait for the sales to be turned on and a few hardy souls to do the deals and report back.

Regardless, you aren't going to find a better deal on Pepsi this year so if you drink it, this is your chance to stock up. If you buy 6 of the 12 packs and combine your purchase with the $5 off $20 coupon you will end up getting 6 for $5.00 -- which works out to just under $.07/can!

Lays and Tostitos also work out well on these deals -- they are 2/7.00 -- buy 6 bags, use the $5 off $20 coupon and get 6 bags for $6.00!

Other PepsiCo Products included in this deal:

True North or Stacy's Chips - 2/$6.00
Amp, Izze, or Starbuck's Frapuccino 4 pk - $5.00
Gatorade 32 oz, Sobe 20 oz, or Pepsi 2 liter - 4/$5.00

Both Pepsi deals are limit 2.

Once you have purchased your Pepsi products, you can make a little more money by filing for these rebates:

Coors $7.50 No Beer Purchase Required Form PO Box 9006, Dept 101061 Valid in: AL, AR, CT, HI, LA, ME, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, SD, UT, VA, VT and WV expires 2/8/10

Coors $10 No Beer Purchase Required Form PO Box 9006, Dept 101059 Valid in: AL, AR, CT, HI, LA, ME, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, SD, UT, VA, VT and WV expires 2/8/10

Yes, I know these rebates are from a beer company, but no beer purchase is required. Not all Pepsi products qualify, but soda and tostitos do -- and you can get $7.50 for buying $20 worth or $10 for buying $30 worth. Thanks to Coupons, Deals, and More for finding these rebates!

Other deals worth mentioning:

Hallmark Cards, Get $3.00 in Extra Bucks when you buy $15+

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday ONLY (don't try on Saturday!):

M&M's 2/$5.00, Get $2.00 in Extra Bucks when you buy 2
Use the $1.00/2 from the 1/10 inserts
Final cost: $1.00/bag after Extra Bucks and coupon.

For the full list and a look at the ad scan, go visit the expert at I Heart CVS. Also, Hip 2 Save did a particularly in depth CVS post over here.

I would like to add one more thing for our newer couponers -- it seems counter intuitive, but sometimes you really do have to buy something you don't need in order to get a much better deal on things that you do need. The main example of this at the moment is the Soy Joy bars bonus deal at CVS. The Soy Joy bars are $6.00/box and produce $6.00 in Extra Bucks. You can buy SIX boxes per card -- so you have a nice high limit to work with. Don't need the bars? Neither do I -- but they can serve a very useful purpose in pushing up your total so that you can use a $5 off $20 coupon.

Here's an example:

Hallmark Cards Spend $15.00, get $3.00 in Extra Bucks.

Nice deal, but not killer. However, given that Valentine's Day is coming, this could be a necessary purchase. What to do? Buy Soy Joy Bars!

$15.00 in Hallmark Cards
$6.00 Soy Joy
_____
$21.00
-$5 off $20
_____
Pay $16.00

Get Back $6.00 from Soy Joy, $3.00 from Hallmark.

Final cost for your cards? $7.00 -- so you've managed to get 53% off on your cards rather than 20% if you had just done the deal without the Soy Joy bars and the $5 off $20 coupon.

I end up with things I don't want/need all the time from deals like this but there are almost always people who are thrilled to get your unwanted freebies -- and if you don't have anyone in mind, the local food pantries are happy to get just about any sort of food or health & beauty item.

Two New Borders Coupons

These are rather nice deals -- especially the $10 off $30 which has no limitations on sale/clearance items -- combine it with some holiday clearance for really good deals.

NEW 33% off the list price of any one item (exp. 1/18)http://www.bordersmedia.com/coup/33jan01wk3.asp

NEW $10 off your purchase of $30 or more (exp. 1/18)

Thanks to Slickdeals.net for these goodies!

So What Am I Buying Today?

I think it's going to be only a few stops today -- tomorrow will be a much bigger shopping day. Today's stops are going to include Stop and Shop to do both the P&G deal and the Chobani yogurt plus I need to pick up my newspapers. Then a stop at CVS -- haven't calculated the new week's deals yet, but that's next on my list and I definitely want to do the Gas X deal before it expires today -- if you have some of those $2.00/1 coupons from Coupons.com last month, it's a great deal.

And that's about it until tomorrow. I will admit that in my haste to acquire Walgreens deals over the past few weeks I have collected lots of Register Rewards but haven't been using them in my deals as much as I should, so I have quite a pile at the moment. Not a huge issue yet, but I need to buckle down and start rolling them before they expire.

One last deal -- if you are out and about today and haven't picked up the freebies at Staples, consider doing it -- they have about six items -- including pads, binder clips, and envelopes -- that are free after Staples Rewards this week. Which means you pay today and get your money back in Staples Rewards in a month or two. The Staples Rewards can only be used in-store --but they can be used to do other Staples Rewards deals. So you can roll them over and over again once you do an initial purchase will real money. You do need to sign up for a Staples Rewards card -- just like a grocery store card -- and make sure it gets scanned when you do your deal, but otherwise it's painless. I do it regularly -- why pay for office supplies when you can get them free?

Free Wet Ones at Walgreens

The full Walgreens post will be coming up later, but go now to print this coupon:

$1.50/1 Printable Coupon for Wet Ones

Starting tomorrow, the Wet Ones canisters will be 2/$4.00 at Walgreens with a $1.00 RR per pair -- so FREE after you use two of these coupons!

There will be A LOT of people printing these today so try to get yours before the coupon hits it's max prints.

And while you're printing coupons for Walgreens, do also consider printing the $2.00/1 Theraflu coupon found on Coupons.com -- even if you're not in the market for Theraflu, it's going to be tied to a nice Lipton tea freebie deal -- and will be another one of those coupons that will max out once the deal starts making the rounds.

SmartSource and P&G Inserts This Weekend

Don't forget to grab your newspapers if you are out and about today in an area with a Saturday Early Edition paper. I'll be getting about six of the Hartford Courant once I manage to drag myself to Stop and Shop.

It's not a huge week, but there are two inserts -- P&G and SmartSource. If you want to get a preview, head over here to see the lists.

Fun with Stop and Shop...

This is a GREAT week at Stop and Shop.

First, the simple deal -- Chobani Greek Yogurt is on sale for $1.00 -- use the $1.00/1 coupon in the 12/13 SS for a freebie.

UPDATE: Also go over here to the Chobani Website to print a Buy 2 Get 1 Free Coupon. For every 3 yogurts you buy, use one of these and two of the $1.00/1 coupons to get all of them free.
UPDATE 2: Turns out that the Chobani $1.00/1 coupon is regional -- some people received it, some didn't.

Second -- this has the deal-o-sphere in quite a twirl -- on the back page of the S&S flyer they are running a "Purchase $30 worth of participating P&G products in one transaction and receive $10 off on your next order" deal!

That sounds generous enough, but the kicker is that Stop and Shop calculates the minimum purchase for the coupon to print on SHELF PRICE not SALE PRICE! And, the minimum is BEFORE coupons.

So how does this work? Here's an example:

Tide 2x Laundry Detergent on sale for 2/$10.00
Shelf price for Tide: $8.49
Buy 4 Tide -- which puts the shelf price over the minimum
Use 4 of the $1.00/1 Tide coupons from P&G 12/27
Pay $16.00 and get back $10.00
Final cost of $6.00 or $1.50 each!!!!

A few more shelf prices for sale items (expect some variation):

Bounty 8 pk -- $12.99 (sale $8.99)
Charmin 24 pack -- $15.98 (sale $9.99)
Puffs 3 pack -- $5.99 (sale $5.00)

The variations are endless, so grab your Stop and Shop flyer and your P&G coupons and head to the store to see what you can get. I will add that while I don't have the shelf price to hand, the Always items should be a very good deal as there was a BOGO coupon in the 12/27 P&G insert - always nice to cut the price of your purchase in half!

DISCLAIMER: This is all based on a nice little quirk in the S&S computers -- also the fact that they say "$30 WORTH" instead of just "$30" in the ad -- but if the catalina coupon doesn't print at the end of your transaction, you can't complain if you used this method to compute the minimum purchase -- the store will expect you to have spent $30 using the sale prices. Let's hope they don't decided to reprogram that quirk any time soon...

Almost Free Aveeno Diaper Rash Cream!

For many of you, this is a yawn -- but for those in the diaper business, this is a good one!

Hip2Save -- always a source of great deals -- laid this out perfectly so I'll merely quote her:

Here’s How: All Aveeno Baby Care products are on a buy 2, get 1 FREE sale through 1/21

Buy 3 Aveeno Diaper rash creams $3.99 (Online price– hopefully the same in-stores)Total=$7.98

Use 3 $2/1 Aveeno coupons from Coupons.com

Plus, use the $1/1 all diaper rash items store coupon from here (on page 3 of the Babies R Us 1/1 ad) The store coupon states one per guest, so I’m assuming you can only use one coupon per transaction.

Final cost– $0.98 for all 3 Aveeno Diaper Rash Creams! That equals out to just $0.33 per item! What a sweet deal… especially for Aveeno products!

NEW CVS $5 off $20, Good Through 1/23

Back from my little blogging-vacation! Here's another great CVS coupon -- I can't believe that they keep coming, but they do! Please remember to put your printer on "landscape" in order to get a good print.

Here's the link.

Amazingly enough, these coupons have been prepped to print -- very often coupons in digital newspapers are just an oversight on the part of the publisher -- AND -- the last two coupons in this series have been coded to allow unlimited uses. So print lots -- you probably can't use two at the same CVS visit, but you can use multiple during the week. Today we are in a sweet spot on these coupons -- the last one (see previous post) is still good through today -- so if you want to be ultra-efficient, print copies of both and do TWO transactions per CVS store -- these are clearly two different coupons, so they'll let you do it -- and you can get more goodies with less running around.

CVS deals for the new week will be up shortly, but they aren't all that stunning -- the CVS Bonus packs are still pretty much the best deals out there, unless you are lucky enough to find a CVS with Christmas stuff left -- then you can have a lot of fun at 90% off!

Saturday, January 9, 2010

NEW CVS $5 Off $20 Good Through 1/16

These just keep coming! No regional restrictions and if it's like the last one, you should be able to use it more than once per card.

Go over here to print. (you may have to switch your printer to landscape mode to get a good print.)

Fabulous Frequent Flyer Mile Deal with British Airways Visa

Disclaimer: This is not an affiliate link, I'm not getting paid (I wish!) and I'm not responsible if you get this credit card and run up bills you can't pay.

That said, there's a fabulous credit card deal out at the moment. British Airways Signature Visa is giving 50,000 miles for your first purchase with the card, and then ANOTHER 50,000 miles once you spend $2,000 in the first three months.

This is an amazing deal. Don't fly British Airways? You don't need to. British Airways miles are good on American Airlines. So that's up to FOUR free domestic US tickets. Or you could just spend your miles on BA and get two free transatlantic tickets!

Tim Winship over at Smarter Travel did a nice write up on this deal over here. Well worth reading. (Actually, Tim Winship is ALWAYS well worth reading.)

The direct link to this deal is over here.

A word of warning -- if you want to sign up, do it at the link above -- as with most credit cards, the issuer has multiple active links at the same time -- but not all of them offer the same bonus. If you were to go to the British Airways website and sign up you would only get 30,000 miles. That's a loss of 70,000 miles just for using the wrong link.

I've done many airline frequent flyer mile deals like this over the years -- although none so lucrative -- and I've always gotten all the miles promised. I do, however, print off a copy of the deal on the day I apply -- that way there can be no doubt as to what I'm due.

If you are thinking of signing up as husband and wife might I suggest that you instead sign up separately? If you sign up for a joint card both of your credit ratings will get checked -- but you'll only end up with one bonus. Sign up separately and those two credit checks will get you two accounts and two bonuses. Will you pay the annual fee twice? Yes. But it's only $75 and we're talking 100,000 miles here.

BA -- unlike any other airline I know of -- also offers a "Household Account" -- all residents of the same household can pool their miles into one account. All sorts of possibilities there! However, if more than one person in your household is going to do this deal I would have them each sign up for an individual frequent flyer account, get the bonus miles, and then combine the accounts once all the bonuses have credited.

Finally, for those of you who are doubtful about spending $2,000 in three months on this card in order to get the second bonus, let me suggest a few things. First, put all your day to day spending on the card -- groceries, gas, etc. -- that really adds up. Second, you can always buy gift cards and use them later. Of course, I don't recommend doing this if you don't have the funds on hand to pay off the card before accruing interest, but for those who can swing it, this deal can potentially be milked for thousands of dollars in free flights.

A Word on Clearance Sales

This particularly applies to the drugstores -- CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid -- but you may find good clearance sales just about anywhere.

This is a BIG time of year to clearance items. Lots of nice deals to be had, but the problem is that you don't necessarily know what you might find. Solution? Bring all your coupons with you when you shop. Even if you leave them in the car, at least they're available. I don't know how many times I've been out and about at this time of year, saw a deal, but didn't have the correct coupon with me. So now I'm keeping the coupon box in the car. No more missing deals.

Some clearance deals do get reported on the shopping blogs and deal boards. One worth reading is Hip2Save's list of clearance deals that have been spotted at Walgreens. Head over here to take a peek.

Michael's 20% Off Your Entire Purchase Coupon

I've never seen them do this before.

Michael's has a 20% Off Your Entire Purchase coupon -- including regular and SALE prices -- good for Saturday, 1/9, 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday, 1/10, 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

This is rare -- Michael's almost never lets you use this type of coupon on sale items.

Here's the link.

Beechnut Let's Grow Bowls -- Free or Almost Free

This is a nice deal. Beechnut issued a $1.00/1 Let's Grow Product coupon in the 1/3 SS. Walmart has the Let's Grow bowls for about $1.00 each (price varies slightly depending on region). You may also find them for a similar price in your local grocery store.
FREE toddler food!

CVS Week of 1/10/09

I'm posting this early -- although not as early as I intended -- sorry! -- because there's an opportunity today to combine next week's CVS deals with the $5 off $20 purchase coupon that expires today.

For those of you who are new, CVS has a little secret -- almost all stores turn on the Sunday sales around mid-afternoon on Saturday. That creates several hours of "overlap" when the old week's sales and coupons are still good and the new week's sale is already active.

The $5 off $20 purchase coupon from the Fresno Bee (see earlier post) makes this week particularly sweet. Amazingly, the coupon can be used multiple times per card -- I've already used it three times on the same card and not a beep in sight.

As I've mentioned before, today is also the last day of the Buy One Get One Half Off sale on all CVS brands. Lots of nice deal potential there.

One particular deal stands out -- the new sale will have CVS Brand Absolutely Divine Cookies and CVS Brand juice on sale 2/$5.00. Given that the BOGO 50% sale will still be in effect, that means those items should ring up at 2/$3.75. If you want to maximize your savings, here's a deal idea for you:

$15.00 -- 8 cookies and juice -- any combination
$6.00 -- Soy Joy bonus pack
______
$21.00
-$5.00 off $20 purchase coupon
Pay $16.00
Receive $6.00 in Extra bucks for Soy Joy bars
Final cost: $10.00 for 8 cookies and juice

If you don't actually want the Soy Joy, just donate them -- the whole purpose of adding them to the deal is to boost your total high enough to get over the $20 threshold for the coupon while not spending any actual money because the Soy Joy bars are free after Extra Bucks.

This is going to work ONLY on Saturday, 1/09, AFTER your local store turns on next week's deals around mid-afternoon.

Here are the highlights of the new week's deals -- these are good until 1/16.

Pantene Pro-V Shampoo/Conditioner/Styler 2/$6.97, Receive $2.00 in Extra Bucks

Maalox $3/2 manufacturer coupon (from the 12/6/09 SS)
(Thank you to Coupons, Deals, and More for this entry -- lots of work there!)

I think those are the best deals, but you may find others depending on your needs. The CVS Bonus packs of various items are a major focus this week, but I've already listed most of them in a previous post so I won't repeat myself.

The CVS make-up clearance is still on, so I would suggest bringing all of your make-up coupons with you just in case. Almost all brands have clearance items, most are 75% off. I'm not sure if the L'Oreal make-up clearance items will count towards the $15 threshold to earn you Extra Bucks, but it's worth a shot.

As always, if you want a more in-depth look, head over to the expert at I Heart CVS.

Coupons for Week of 1/10

The Coupon Clippers has the coupons for next week available on their website. Whether you plan to buy from them or not, it's a great resource to see what's coming up. The denominations may change depending on where you live, but most of the products will be the same nationwide. Go over here to take a peek.

CVS $5 Off $20 Good Through 1/09

I posted about this coupon earlier this week, but I wanted to add an update -- it appears that it will work multiple times on the same account. I tried it a second time on the same card yesterday and it went through just fine. And it's still good for a few more days!

If you haven't printed it yet, go right over here. It can be a little tricky -- I've had much better luck printing it since I switch to Landscape mode on my printer.

Since this coupon is good through Saturday and most CVS stores turn the new week's sales on sometime around 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon you may be able to get most of next week's deals with this coupon as well. I will try to highlight those deals tomorrow so you can be prepared for Saturday.

And finally, the CVS brands "buy one get one half off" deal is ending on Saturday. I've found it very useful for those items that never seem to go on sale -- especially when combined with the $5 off $20 coupon. And you may also get a $2 off $10 CVS Brand purchase coupon from the coupon printer at the front of your store. You can stack all of those deals together to get some very cheap items. CVS tends to make it's own brand of many OTC products -- it's usually just as good as the national brand and while on an average day the CVS brand isn't as cheap as, say, the Walmart brand, with all these deals it becomes THE place to get your store brand OTC health and beauty items.

Brita Water Pitchers for $3.00 After Coupon at Lowe's Home Improvement

I've read in multiple places today that Lowe's has Brita Water Pitchers on sale for $8.00 and you can print a $5.00/1 coupon over here.

Stop and Shop Ad Starting 1/8

The new Stop and Shop ad is out and it has three interesting goodies.

First, I'd like to draw your attention to something totally new -- there's a prescription transfer coupon for the Stop and Shop Pharmacy that offers 20% off a future grocery purchase for transferring one prescription. Not bad. The maximum discount is $50. This coupon was in the flyer that was delivered to my house -- I can't promise that it will be in the flyers at the store, so if you still have the flyer that came in the mail, hold onto it.

It appears to be ConAgra Week. All the gas rewards items are from ConAgra and I hear tell that in the non-gas areas there will be a $5 Off On Your Next Order coupon if you spend $15 or more on the items listed in the flyer.

Among those items are Healthy Choice Entrees, on sale 5 for $10.00. Use the $5.00/5 coupon from the Healthy Choice website here. It prints twice per computer. That gives you entrees for $1.00 each!

If you are in the gas areas that should also get you 125 gas points. If you are in the non-gas areas you MAY get the coupon just for purchasing the five entrees -- I'm not sure yet, we'll have to see when the deal goes active tomorrow. BUT -- it's well known that Stop and Shop bases their minimum purchase deals off of SHELF PRICE rather than SALE PRICE -- and since those entrees have a shelf price of over $3.00 each, purchasing five may do the trick. I promise to post an update as soon as the information is available.

(Just a quick clarification -- just because your store doesn't have a gas station doesn't automatically mean that you get the $5.00 off on your next order deal instead of gas points. If you are in an AREA with gas stations, you may still get gas points. As in the Groton, CT store has no gas station, but since there are stations in East Lyme, Waterford, and Montville it's still a gas rewards area. You have to live pretty far from a gas station to get the non-gas area deals. The only way to be sure which deal you qualify for is to check your local flyer.)

The grapefruit deal from last Winter is back again.

Buy two Ocean Spray Premium 100% Juice at 2/$4.00 and Get a 5 lb bag of grapefruit FREE!
No coupons yet, but we can hope!

Fun With Walgreens This Week

I often hesitate before doing a Walgreens post because I get the feeling that many of my readers are just really not into the whole Register Rewards thing, but I did head over to Walgreens yesterday and there are so many deals popping that I wanted to report. If you don't usually venture to Walgreens but were considering it -- this would be a good week to try it out.

First, if you are still in search of an H1N1 shot I can tell you that many Walgreens have them in stock -- including the Walgreens in Norwich where I got mine yesterday. Yes, it wasn't free -- $18 -- but better than getting the flu.

Also, Walgreens is participating in the great January make up clearance. If you go, bring your stash of make up coupons and see what you can find. Availability varies by store, but most clearance items are 75% off so with the current L'Oreal and Revlon coupons, you can get many things free or almost free.

To the deals:

Nabisco Cookies and Crackers -- SMALL boxes -- $.99
On the crackers, use the Nabisco $2/2 coupon here.
TWO FREE!
On the Chips Ahoy cookies, just buy two boxes and get a $2.00 RR. This is probably a programming glitch -- they most likely didn't mean to include this small box in the deal, but as of yesterday, it's working -- but only ONE RR will print per transaction.
I don't believe the other cookie varieties are working, but if you feel daring...

Esther C -- All sizes, BOGO (non-acidic vitamin C)
Buy TWO of the $10.99 bottles
Use two of the $5.00/1 coupons from 1/3
Get two bottles for $.99!

Electrasol/finish 20 pk, $3.49 Get $1.00 in
Use $2.50/1 Finish Quantum Powerball Tabs or Gelpacs 1/3 SS
Free after coupon and RR!

Revlon Matte Eye Shadow, $4.99
Use $3.00/1 Walgreens coupon from weekly ad.
Use $2.00/1 Revlon Coupon from 12/13/09 SS
Free!
(Note: As usual, you only need ONE Walgreens coupon, no matter how many of the same item you are buying -- the cash register will take the coupon amount off every applicable item automatically.)

Hunt's Tomato Sauce $.39 w/ in-ad coupon
-$1 off 3 hunt's (click on the hunt's lady in green short and red hat)
This says "limit 3" on the in-ad coupon, but Walgreens hardly ever enforces limits as long as you buy reasonable amounts, so I would print the manufacturer's coupon twice and buy SIX cans at one go -- there's really no need to do multiple transactions unless the cashier insists.

Pepsi Products, spend $20, get $10 back in RR.
There are many items -- check you flyer if interested -- BUT the one of note is the Aquafina Water 24packs. This deal has many blogs in a twirl. Moms Need to Know gives you the step by step over here, but the upshot is that you end up with FOUR 24-packs of Aquafina for only $5.96!

Those are the deals that really caught my eye, but if you want an in-depth look, consult the expert at I Heart Wags.

Green Giant Steamers Deal at Stop and Shop

This comes in two flavors -- with Gas Rewards points for those who live near a Stop and Shop gas station and with a "$5 off on your next order coupon" for those who live in non-gas (no pun intended) areas.

So -- Green Giant Steamers are 3/$5.00 through Thursday. Head over to Coupons.com, Smartsource.com, and Pillsbury.com and print off as many of the $.50/1 Green Giant Steamers coupons as you can.

For those hunting the $5 coupon, you need to buy 7. Or you need to buy Steamers plus enough of the other included items in the deal to get you to 7 -- check your local flyer for details. (I'm in the gas rewards area so I don't have that flyer.)

The 7 steamers will come to $11.66. Use 7 coupons -- all doubled -- pay $4.66 -- and get your $5.00 back. Seven packages of vegetables free plus they'll pay you $.44 to take them away.

For those in the Gas Rewards area, you have it easier, but it's less profitable. The flyer says you need to buy 4 items to get 100 points -- true enough, but what it doesn't say is that each item independently earns you 25 points, so you can buy as little or as much as you want. Now -- the pricing gets trickly -- using the coupons and assuming that you will be buying Stop and Shop gas using the points discount, then depending on the size of your gas tank you should end up paying about $.30 for each package. Not as good as the coupon area, but not bad.

I did read one report of the $5 coupon not printing at the checkout. I usually have good luck with the coupon machines at the register, but should this happen to you, just go to customer service and they'll give you your $5.00.

The Tax Man Cometh...

Not for a while, but he's coming. Yep, I know you didn't want to hear about this yet, but another blog pointed this out earlier today and I just had to have my say as well.

First, the freebie -- on January 15th you can go over here to the IRS Free File page and hopefully find a deal that works for you.

Now, many of you already do your taxes online and either snag a freebie or only pay a small amount for either the online service or the tax software. I'm not talking to you. Pats on the back to you all, run along and print some coupons.

I'm now talking to those of you who are the worst offenders -- those who trot down to some tax preparation service and pay something like $200 or more to have them do basic family taxes. Might I encourage you to do a re-think this year?

And then there are the frugal but stick in the muds who do their own taxes -- but with pen and paper -- and then wait an extra COUPLE OF MONTHS for their return. I'm talking to you too.

I don't know exactly what deals will be offered this year, but I can guarantee that the basic software and the filing charge combined should cost you no more than $50, and if you're even slightly lucky, most likely it will be much less. Tax software/online programs require NO MATH and gently lead you through the process asking very simple questions and then manipulating your answers so that they fit in the proper box on the IRS forms.

So, unless you have complicated financial affairs, might I suggest that you start the year off right by ditching the appointment with the expensive tax prep service and finding yourself a nice (hopefully free!) tax software deal instead?

I haven't found my own deal yet -- but I'm starting to look -- and I promise to post the best deals as soon as I find them.

Coupons.com

Do hurry over to Coupons.com and print the various high value (as in $2.00/1) Aveeno coupons that have recently been listed -- you'll be very happy next time a big Aveeno deal comes around.

CVS 1/3

I have to say that CVS isn't thrilling me this week beyond what I've already posted. The $5 off $20 purchase coupon (see earlier post) is great, the 75% off on Christmas and make-up is wonderful, I love the Bonus Deals, and yes, I am still plumbing the depths of the wonderful CVS Brands buy one get one half off deal, but the current weekly deals are, well, rather weak, if you'll pardon the pun.

Here's what I did think was worth it:

$2 ECb wyb GE Energy Smart Bulbs $2.99 Limit 1
$1/1 GE Energy Smart here
Free after coupon and Extra Bucks.

Baked Lays $3.00/1
Use the $1.00/1 Baked Lays coupon from 1/3 AND
Use the $1.00/1 CVS Baked Lays coupon from here.
Pay $1.00/bag!

If you are out to make a profit, this deal is part of the Bonus Deals posted earlier, but particularly effective since last weekend's coupons:

Oust Spray (with bonus deal sticker), $3.99, Get $3.00 in Extra Bucks.
Buy in pairs.
Use the Buy One Get One Free Oust coupons from the 1/3 SS.
Pay $3.99 and get $6.00 back for each pair.
Now -- I orginally read that the limit was 6 -- but since then I've seen blog comments claiming limits of 3, 4, or 5 -- this deal could vary regionally. Until proven otherwise, check the "bonus deal" sticker on the bottle before you buy -- that should give you the limit per card. If you can do the limit of 6, combine with a $5 off $20 for even more profit!

As always, you should look at the flyer yourself -- you never know what you might find! And, of course, consult the expert at I Heart CVS.

Nabisco Cracker $2/2 Coupon

Print it here -- and make sure to back up and get a second coupon!

These can have all sorts of uses -- but the one that has the deal-o-sphere in a twirl at the moment is buying two small (about 5 oz I think) boxes of Ritz Crackers at Walgreens where they are on sale for $.99 each this week and then getting both for free with this coupon.

Borders 33% Off One Item Good Through 1/11

Finally! We haven't had a good Borders Coupon in quite a while!

Here you go.

Rite Aid Deals This Week (1/3)

Rite Aid has some nice deals going on plus -- and this can be a biggie depending on the store you visit -- they have reduced their Christmas clearance to 75% off AND they are having a make up clearance, also 75% off.

So -- before going to Rite Aid you are going to want to gather up all your make up coupons -- just in case -- almost all brands have at least a few items on clearance.

And you are going to want to visit this Slickdeals.net post that gives links to just about all of the current Rite Aid printables including the $5 off $20 purchase.

And you should head over here to where Deal Seeking Mom has posted the official PDF of the Rite Aid coupon policy (sent to her straight from Rite Aid corporate) and print a copy to take to the store with you. Got all that?

Now, here are the two best deals:
Stay Free Maxi Pads Buy One Get One Free
Use the BOGO coupon in the 1/3 RP
Get TWO packages free!

Nivea Lip Treatment Buy One Get One Free

Use the BOGO coupon in the 1/3 RP

Get two items FREE!

If the clerk is clueless, or says "you can't do that, it's already Buy One Get One Free!", then you show them the Rite Aid coupon policy, second section, second item where it says "If a customer presents a Buy One Get One Free coupon for the purchase of two items that are on a Buy One Get One Free promotion; we accept the coupon, essentially making both items free."

Other Goodies:

Got 2 B Hair Care -- Buy One Get One Free, prices start at $6.49
Use two of the $3.00/1 Rite Aid Got 2 B Coupons from the January Video Values.
As low as $.49 for TWO items!

GE Reveal Light Bulbs 4 pack 2/$4.00

Get a $2.00 Single Check Rebate (SCR #88) when you purchase 2 packages.
Use the $1.00/2 coupon here. Or, if you're lucky, use two of the 1.00/1 coupons from 1/3 (Regional, I think) Final price should be FREE or $1.00 for 2 packages!

Blogger seems to be fighting me at the moment -- I apologize for the weird spacing in this post -- so I'll just put this up and hope that Blogger goes back to playing nice!

NEW CVS $5 Off $20 and Other Updates

CVS has a new $5 off $20 from the Fresno Bee. Go over here to print -- and remember to put your printer on LANDSCAPE -- otherwise it might not come out properly.

Head over to Coupons.com to find a whole bunch of interesting new coupons including some high value Aveeno Q's! Print soon, these will hit their max fast.

I'm hoping to blog more later, but right now I'm headed out to shop myself because CVS went 75% off Christmas yesterday and -- by report, I didn't get there yet -- Rite Aid also went 75% off.

Where to go to get the best deals? A little grungy or a little bit "in the middle of nowhere" usually gets you much better clearance pickings than right in the middle of soccer-mom-land.

For locals, I can tell you that CVS in Montville still had tons of Christmas candy yesterday and some of the other goodies -- although it was going fast. CVS on Bank Street in New London had lots of Christmas a few days ago -- that's one of my targets today. I'm also going to hit the Rite Aid on Boston Post Road in Waterford -- they had lots a few days ago so I'm hoping it hasn't been wiped out.

While you're at CVS, remember to use the CVS coupon printer (the red box thingy) to get your $2 off a $10+ CVS Brand purchase coupon -- if it doesn't come out at first, just scan your card again until it does -- it usually prints with a candy coupon and they are the last two that everyone gets. Combine that with the CVS Brands Buy One Get One Half Off deal AND the new $5 off $20 and you can get yourself some very nice deals.

I'll hope to get some solid blogging in later, but the streets beckon.

As always, Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Clearance Make Up Info for Locals

Just wanted to mention for those locals who are interested in the annual January make up clearance sales that I ventured into the CVS on Bank Street in New London and the Rite Aid on Rte. 1 in Waterford earlier today and both of them had loads of 75% off make up. It does clear out quickly though -- so if you're interested, go soon.

For those who aren't local, my advice on finding likely prospects for clearance make up is to target stores in low traffic areas or in places that don't attract your average lady out shopping. The grungier the neighborhood, the less competition -- BUT DO NOT GET YOURSELF MUGGED IN YOUR SEARCH FOR CHEAP MAKE UP!!!!

And -- if L'Oreal products interest you, don't forget to print the L'Oreal coupons at Coupons.com and on the L'Oreal Paris website. Plus, this weekend's papers will have even more L'Oreal coupons.

Just to give you an example of what's available, I purchased 2 L'Oreal Lipsticks that usually retail for $8.99 each. At 75% off the bill was $4.50 and I used the $3.00 Off Any Two L'Oreal Products coupon from the L'Oreal Paris website. So I ended up paying $1.50 total -- or $.75 each.

CVS Bonus Pack Deals

These are supposed to start on 1/3 but I've already spotted them in stores -- and if you see them on the shelf, then they should work regardless of the date. These bonus packs have multiples of the same or related items, are usually priced well -- AND -- they yield Extra Bucks. Since the bonus pack is one item, you can only use one coupon per "pack", which can be frustrating, but all in all its a good program.

The nice lady at Coupons, Deals, and More must have a lot of time on her hands or a devoted staff because she has made an exhaustive list of these items. I'm posting it here for your reading pleasure, but if you are looking for other blogs to read, do take a look at hers -- lots of useful things and a slightly sarcastic attitude. :)

Walgreens Register Rewards for January

In my ongoing effort to be your concierge for the deal-o-sphere, I want to poin out that the nice lady over at Mommy Snacks just did a thorough and well organized post on the Walgreens January Register Rewards -- I'm not even going to bother cutting and pasting it here -- it will look much better in her format -- so go right over here and take a look. What a lot of work! I'm actually going to print this out for a handy dandy reference this month.

Coupon Happenings...

Just a little reminder that tomorrow's Early Edition and Sunday's papers will have FIVE coupon inserts. Or at least they should -- make sure you check before you buy!

For those of you who want to be more selective, The Coupon Clippers are back from their holiday break and have the coupons they will be selling starting tomorrow morning up on their site in "preview" mode -- in other words, you can look but you can't buy yet. They usually start selling quite early on Saturday morning and the really good coupons could easily be gone by mid-morning. If you want to look, go over there and select the "tracker" button, then click on the appropriate date and insert.

Also, remember that you can buy coupons on eBay. Ebay sellers usually only sell in packs of 10 or 20, so you really have to want a lot of coupons, but if you do, then they are usually a better deal than a clipping service. You can also sometimes find more variation in coupon denominations on eBay than you can from the clipping services.

(Note to Tom: Yes, you really can buy coupons on eBay and it's perfectly legal -- technically you are paying for the time and effort spent gathering the coupons -- now, is it a little geeky? Well, maybe...)
