In the battle between Stop and Shop and ShopRite, I have to say that ShopRite clearly has the edge this week. I'm not sure I'll get all the deals listed before I have to rush off to pick up my darling daughter from school, so if you want to see what's available for yourself, head over to the ShopRite website and take a cruise through the flyer for yourself. Lots of good deals don't even involve coupons -- the prices are just really good this week.
However, the best deal of all is the P&G Go For The Gold promotion. Yep, ShopRite has joined the P&G party in a big way.
If you spend $25 or more from participating P&G brands you can submit your receipt for a $10.00 gift card by mail. Spend $50 or more and get both the gift card and a coupon for $10 off on your next shopping order.
And, after perusing the various deal boards, it appears that the minimum purchase is being calculated off shelf price, not sale price so if you're items are on sale, you won't even have to spend the $50 to get the $10 coupon. However, if you are going for just the $10 gift card for a $25 purchase, you will have to spend $25 before coupons or you won't get your rebate.
Participating brands are: Bounce, Bounty, Cascade, Charmin, Dawn, Downy, Duracell, Febreze, Iams, Ivory, Mr. Clean, Pampers, Puffs, Swiffer, and Tide.
There are also 36 items on sale -- check out page 4 of the flyer for details. The flyer is also helpful because if you add the "you save" amount to the sale price, you get the shelf price -- which is handy for doing your calculations.
Sample Deal #1:
Pampers Big Pack Diapers, sale price: $18.99, shelf price: $24.99
Buy 2 packs and a filler -- I suggest a three-pack of Ivory soap since it's only about $1.50
Use: 2 of the $2/1 Pampers coupons from the 12/27 P&G
Use: 1 of the $1/1 Zest, Ivory, etc.. soap coupons from the 12/27 P&G
Pay: $18.99 + $18.99 + $1.50 less $5 in coupons = $34.48
Receive: $10 off coupon from cashier and $10 rebate by mail
Final cost of $14.48 for two big boxes and the soap.
That's going to make the diapers about $.10/each or less depending on the size diaper you are buying.
Sample Deal #2
Buy 3 Bounty Towels 15 pack plus 1 Mr. Clean Magic Eraser 2 pk. That gives you a shelf price of $51.16 and a sale price of $40.96.
Pay: $12.99 + $12.99 + $12.99 + $1.99 = $40.96
Receive $10 off coupon from cashier and $10 back by mail.
Final price: $20.96 for 45 rolls of paper towels and two Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.
(and yes, I do know that there are a variety of small denomination Bounty coupons out at the moment, I just don't have them to hand so I'll let you add them to the deal yourselves.)
There are so many possible deals that there's no way to run through all the possible permutations, but if you're interested, pull out all of your P&G coupons and the ShopRite flyer and see what you can come up with.
